STUDY FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR SKILL SET

These units of competency from the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package, provide a set of skills to work hygienically when handling food and supervising the safety of food during its storage, preparation, display, service, and disposal. This certificate of attainment meets the prescribed requirements, under some Australian state and territory food safety laws, for individuals to work as food safety supervisors.

Why study a Food Safety Supervisor course?

Under the Food Act 2006, every licensable food business in Queensland is required to have a food safety supervisor.

New food businesses are required to notify their local government of the name of their Food Safety Supervisor within 30 days of the issue of their licence. There are penalties for not having a Food Safety Supervisor present when you are providing food to the public.

When and where can I take the course?

Our courses run face-to-face for one full day, and include a workbook, morning tea and a light lunch. We hold them in Palmwoods, on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, about once per month. The cost is $180.00 payable prior to the day by direct deposit (details on the enrolment form), or by card.
